#DearMe part II: Let's get a little deep

OK so I was laying in my bed thinking & I  felt like I definitely left some advice out that little me deserves to know so....

Dear young and naive,  beautiful me, ever since you were knee high to a grasshopper people have always stared at you & to be honest they're never really going to stop but keep in mind it's not always because you're in a wheelchair! It's also because you're beautiful inside & out it just...  Your beauty shines through.  In high school, at least for the 1st 2 years you're going to be known as "Cristina's little sister" and I know you don't really like that because it's hard to live up to a straight A beautiful varsity  basketball  player/homecoming queen but don't worry about that for too long trust me it gets better! There's going to come a time when you're getting bullied senior year & you're going to realize a lot of people love you just the way you are. You're seeing a lot of relationships form in high school and so all you can think about is  how can I get a boyfriend?? Yet you're super afraid of rejection but you don't let that stop you, so you're going to ask someone to homecoming..... And they're gonna reject you. You're gonna ask someone to Sadie Hawkins.... They're also gonna reject you and you're gonna cry alone in your room  because you feel boys don't like you, but you didn't let that stop you from going to prom alone! You and your dress stole the show.  You feel like they don't like you because  you're in a wheelchair and when you think they do like you you'll soon realize it's for the wrong reasons and then you'll start getting pressured into having sex. Don't give in! Luckily you can see right through that. There will come a time when you realize there are some guys out there who genuinely like you for you & they may not be the "right guy" but that's OK, you'll find your prince charming. Even when you're older you're still gonna worry about being forever alone because  you ARE gonna get your heart broken there's gonna be someone  you were so in love with and he loved you... Temporarily. You're gonna give him your everything and I do mean everything and he's gonna crush you and what he did will scar/change you which will make it harder for someone you really want to love you in the way that you love him. and you're still going to have issues of being rejected by your father but know that your step dad loves you so so much and he will do absolutely anything for you.  I know that right now your biggest fear is rejection but baby girl, rejection is inevitable & there's nothing you can do to change that except for maybe be strong and keep in mind that what physically doesn't kill you mentally makes you stronger.....

Oh and also don't worry about joining any sports I know you think it's not fair that you can't do any sports because you are disabled or you can't do special Olympics because your IQ was too high for it but it's okay! You're gonna join the debate team which will make your senior year the time of your life. Ir's where you meet one of your best friends   you're one of a kind.

Stay unique,  Beautiful

Love, well..... Me!
